Botswana needs a hospital for people with disabilities. Can you help?

My name is Alvaro de Miguel, I am 25 years old and I am crossing Africa on foot, from South Africa to Cairo. This journey has a double purpose: a personal challenge and a commitment to leave a positive mark wherever I pass.

In Botswana I have the honour of collaborating with Botswana Council for the Disabled, the country's largest organisation dedicated to supporting people with disabilities. With more than 27 centres, a network of more than 30 organisations and more than 800 people supported over the last five years, their work transforms lives every day.

Together we are supporting the construction of a new educational centre in Kasane, in northern Botswana, a region where access to education, inclusion and opportunity remains very limited for many people with disabilities. This project will benefit more than 100 people and offer a space to learn, grow and build a future with greater autonomy and dignity.
